Clara comes from a family with a long tradition of weaving, learning from her parents and starting the craft when she was 15 years old.
“I am fortunate for the work that God gave the people of Teotitlan, we have great knowledge, which is the most important thing. This land gives you the tools you need to work. Everything is natural and healthy. "
Her favorite part of her process is contemplating the end result of cutting the warp threads. She often thinks about the steps she took to achieve it and the things she can do to improve. She loves learning about natural dyes, an alchemical process that can take years to master. Weaving is a true passion for Clara, and when she is at her loom she feels she is exactly where she is meant to be.
