The Stargazer pattern features a butterfly and arrow design in shades of mustard, rust and mint on a vibrant deep sapphire background. 

Many of the traditional designs found on MZ Made bags are taken from pre-Hispanic Zapotec ruins such as Mitla and Monte Alban. Each of these symbols has a deep cultural meaning to the people who weave them. We are honored to share these beautiful designs with the world.

Each MZ Made creation is a work of art, handmade with immense love and pride. We strive to preserve the beautiful traditions and superb artistry of the Zapotec people by connecting them with socially conscious consumers around the globe.

Handmade by master Zapotec artisans Malena + Hugo in Oaxaca, Mexico.

Malena has been weaving all of her life, learning first from her grandfather, starting with simple designs that later became more and more complex. Her favorite part of the process is the moment the colors and the designs start to come together.

Your handmade item is made with premium wool, which naturally repels dirt, debris, and moisture. It requires less laundering than other fibers! Never use a washer or dryer.

For light cleaning, we suggest a cashmere brush. They are readily available online and in most craft and yarn stores.

For more intensive cleaning, we recommend eco-friendly dry cleaning.

This is the third bag that I have purchased from MZ, and again I am so pleased with my purchase. I planned to use this bag as an easy tote to carry while traveling, but I love it so much that I'm still carrying it since my last trip. I've also received many compliments on how beautiful it is. The colors are even better in person. Highly recommend.

I. LOVE. THIS.

It was exactly as I hoped. It deeply smells of leather with a touch of wool. I buried my face in it, to be honest. It's delicious. It's a great size and the zipper opening is the right shape/length to get stuff in and out of a bag this deep. (Some openings are so wonky! This is designed well.) Super simple construction and very sturdy. She's a keeper!

Stargazer love

Ordering was easy, secure, and delivery was as promised. This tote is almost too pretty to use. I just like looking at it and admiring the beautiful craftsmanship. I also like that it has a full zipper closure. So many totes are open at the top and, therefore, useless on airplanes. The wool weaving is nice and tight, and the colors are rich. I love it so much I just ordered the Dark Earth tote and can't wait to get it. They even tell you the craftsmen's names, so nice work, Malena Jimenez and Hugo Santiago!
